Our Experience

    • We acted for India Buildings Development Limited on a 300,0000 square foot refurbishment of a landmark office building in central Liverpool. We drafted and negotiated the appointments of the professional team, the building contract, a pre-construction services agreement and the ancillary documentation including negotiating the documentation with the forward funder and tenant.
    • We acted for hotel operators Park Plaza and citizenM in relation to their development of several new build hotels in London ranging from 250 to 350 rooms each. We dealt with the drafting and negotiation of the appointments, the building contract and the ancillary construction documentation.
    • We acted for a property investment company in its development of a new build mixed use scheme in London comprising 68 flats with commercial units. We drafted and negotiated all of the construction documentation.
    • Acting on behalf of a Joint Venture Company with a £350m property portfolio on various matters including in respect of defective works carried out by contractors on multi-level carpark decking at a shopping centre. We achieved a speedy cost effective resolution by way of adjudication and were awarded all of the sums claimed in full. The client received those sums in 7 days.
    • Advised Dobler as contractor under a trade contract in relation to Phase 2 Embassy Gardens, Nine Elms, London, the 15 acre Ballymore development of homes, offices and retail.
    • We act on behalf of one of  Britain’s largest property companies with a portfolio of £6 billion, in claims against both the contract administrator and contractors for issues relating to (but not limited to): poor project and contract management, failing to identify damp issues, securing the wrong air conditioning system, delays in a strip out and refit of a property and failure to pursue dilapidations in breach of contract/retainer. Such failures have given rise to significant losses for our client.
    • We acted on behalf of Westminster Academy in respect of a claim as a consequence of baffles falling from the ceiling within the building, causing significant consequential losses and costs of repair. This was successfully settled at a pre action stage.
    • We act on behalf of a football club in a claim against a firm of contractors for the substandard design and installation of a FIFA 2* football pitch. The substandard pitch led to serious drainage and levelling issues which resulted in the cancellation of match fixtures.
