Hamlins expertise recognised in Chambers 2017 and The Legal 500 2016
Hamlins has been ranked across a range of practice areas in the two leading directories of legal services, Chambers (2017 edition) and The Legal 500 (2016 edition).
This year, 14 practice areas were ranked within the publications and 15 of our lawyers were recommended.
Hamlins’ Corporate and Commercial Team, lead by Daniel Bellau, was highly praised in both publications. Recognised for their small and mid-cap flotations, the department was ranked as a ‘Noted Firm’ for Capital Markets AIM in the UK-category for Chambers. Daniel Bellau was ranked individually as ‘Recognised Practitioner” for his Corporate M&A work.
Hamlins was ranked in both titles for Defamation / Reputation Management, noting the team’s capability and experience in this practice area. Chris Hutchings and Andrew Stephenson again achieved recognition in both directories. Chambers 2017 comments how Chris Hutchings ‘has shrewd and helpful insights into the media’ and Andrew Stephenson is described as ‘a seasoned reputation management specialist’.
The firm’s outstanding expertise within Media & Entertainment resulted in a high ranking for Laurence Gilmore in Chambers as well as recognition as ‘leading individual’ in The Legal 500. Chambers cites he acts for music industry clients in contentious matters and describes him as being ‘very tenacious and super intelligent’. The Legal 500 also recommended Philip Herbert, Matthew Pryke, Julian Ward, Chris Hutchings and Mark Gay in the wider TMT section.
Members of the Property Finance Team attained rankings in both publications and achieved a range of complimentary commendations. Charles Bezzant is described in Chambers as ‘very enthusiastic and client-focused’ and in The Legal 500 as being ‘particularly experienced in financing investment and development’. Aselle Djumabaeva-Wood & Joe Holder were also individually recommended in The Legal 500.
Hamlins’ Partner Kate Andrews was again ranked in Chambers 2017 for her exceptional work and was praised for her astute skills in contentious litigation. She ‘counsels clients on a broad range of contentious matters’ and is spoken of as being ‘just marvellous!”
Senior Partner Joseph Holder commented on Hamlins’ achievements:
“We are very pleased to have received such positive acknowledgement in both Chambers and The Legal 500 directories this year.
We are delighted that Hamlins was ranked for many practice areas, as well as a number of our lawyers achieving individual recognition. We are committed to continuing to deliver work of the highest quality to our clients across the firm.”
