Examples of work undertaken by our lawyers

    • Advising various holiday and timeshare providers in litigation involving several jurisdictions including Spain, Malta and the UK.
    • Assisting French lawyers in a landmark case in the French courts with relation to claims relating to unofficial music calendars and alleging infringement of image rights and unfair competition.
    • Representing the music industry collective body, Trademark and Rightsholders Against Piracy (TRAP), overseeing raids across the UK and Europe of manufacturers of infringing band /artist merchandise.
    • Acting as lead legal adviser on all matters relating to the new tennis format and series of Tie Break Tens including the negotiation and drafting of all arrangements with broadcasters covering more than 100 different countries and the staging of events in Spain, Austria, the U.S. and Australia.
    • Advising on the renegotiation of a global long term branding licence to use the easyProperty brand with the Easy Group, and particularly Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou. The transaction involved leading an intensive re-negotiation of a global brand licence to enable the easyProperty brand to form part of a larger collaboration with the international luxury agency brand Fine & Country, easyProperty and Guild of Property Professionals brands. The deal also involved a renegotiation of the existing licence arrangements with Sir Stelios’ easyGroup.
    • Advising in connection with a recently launched English language digital and content creation channel for Spanish football La Liga. Advising on the securing of content and associated rights with various high profile Spanish footballers and managers.
    • From 2008 until the case was settled in 2010, acting for the Danish Professor Henrik Thomsen, who was sued for libel by the U.S., UK and Norwegian GE Healthcare companies after he had raised well-founded suspicions of a link between a pharmaceutical product and the rare but serious disease, nephrogenic systemic fibrosis.
    • Representing a UK subsidiary of Swedish company, Gammadata Matteknik I Uppsala AB, on its acquisition of the vacuum generators business of Thermo Electron Corporation in the U.S. and Germany.
    • Representing a major Italian energy public company’s turbine subsidiary and a major Swiss electrical engineering company in connection with the project finance of their provisioning of two Chilean power plants, with generators and cabling and additional electrical turbine equipment totalling $50m.
